The Russian Ministry of Education and Science discussed joint inter-university projects with the Republic of Cuba

"Our departments can rightfully be called ministries of the future. It is we who train specialists who will define and shape the image of our countries. It is absolutely justified that in our work we look back on the past and on the previous generation in order to move together towards a bright future and follow our own path," said Konstantin Mogilevsky.

The session was attended by representatives of the Southern Federal University, the Russian State Social University, the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, People's Friendship University of Russia, the Moscow State Linguistic University, the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Pushkin State Institute of Russian Language.

Students from Cuba are trained at SFU under the programme "Internship in Russia - a Step to Success". The representatives of the university suggested expanding the number of Cuban universities participating in the project. The parties also agreed to create a mirror laboratory on artificial intelligence and technical sciences, which will cover the areas of cyber security, energy and biotechnology.

According to PFUR, medicine, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology are promising areas of co-operation with Cuban universities.

The representatives of the Republic of Cuba recognised the great contribution of educational and inter-university cooperation to the development of bilateral relations and supported the initiatives of their Russian colleagues.
