The Times Higher Education (THE) list the world’s best universities that were established between 1945 and 1967.

The Golden Age ranking includes the top 271 universities that are older than 50 years old but under 80. THE explains that the ranking takes its name from what was a Golden Age in global higher education, characterised by rapid university expansion and increasing investment in research.

Russia has seven institutions in the ranking. Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) is rated 35th. It is followed by Novosibirsk State University (NSU) (83) and RUDN University (RUDN), which features in the 101-150 band.
