Our interests in the field of international scientific cooperation, including humanitarian cooperation, are based on parity of intellectual and organisational contribution. Therefore, we should first of all pay attention to how to organise work to attract local scientists, scientists from third countries, to form scientific teams. For our part, we are set for serious work and are ready to co-operate with everyone who is interested in it. For us, this is one of the levers for the development of our own oriental studies. Now the Ministry is launching a project to support Oriental and African studies. Joining IICAI also fulfils these objectives," Konstantin Mogilevsky said.
The Institute is the largest interstate organisation specialising in the historical and cultural development of Central Asia. Its mission is to strengthen cooperation between scientists from different countries for interdisciplinary research of the region, which will cover a number of areas: tangible and intangible cultural heritage, environment, archaeology, history, social sciences and other fields. Kazan Federal University has been an associate member of IICAS since 2017.
The parties noted the high level of co-operation of the institute with Russian experts, primarily with the scientific and educational community of Tatarstan. Over the past 4 years, IICAS has supported 6 projects with the participation of Russian scientists and organisations.
The dialogue outlined key areas of cooperation, opportunities for financing joint projects and initiatives, access to historical and documentary databases, archaeological research materials and manuscripts.
Special attention was paid to the involvement of Russian experts in research and the creation of international collaborations on the IICAS platform to implement the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.
