Cooperation of SUSU and the Russian Federal Nuclear Centre

South Ural State University (SUSU, one of the organizers of the Olympiad) and the Federal Nuclear Centre - E. I. Zababakhin All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics are implementing a joint project “Mathematical modeling of high-speed processes in the multicomponent heterogeneous environment”.

The university will launch the two areas of study for Master’s degree students within the scope of the project: “Physical and Mathematical Modelling of High-speed Processes with Phase and Chemical Transformations,” and “Software Solutions for Modelling the Behaviour of Continuous Media in Dynamic Loading Conditions.”

SUSU students and their colleagues from the Federal Nuclear Centre will design new methods for behavioral mathematical models of the environment in dynamic loading conditions, carry out experiments to develop power materials with certain properties and design unique complex computations software. The research team will be able to predict the behavior of certain structures under the wave impact load.

A combination of mathematical and physical modeling in developing and researching complex materials contributes towards implementing the Strategy for the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.
