Universities-organizers of the Olympiad Gain Ground in QS World University Rankings

The 228th position is held by one of Open Doors organizers, Novosibirsk State University (NSU). In all, 17 Open Doors organizers feature in this year's rankings, with St Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” (Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University) making its debut. Russia has expanded its representation in the top 300, where NSU and another tried-and-tested top-300 finisher, Tomsk State University (TSU), which sits in 250th place, have been joined by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology - MIPT (MIPT) and National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), at #281 and #298, respectively.

While most Open Doors organizers have seen their standings improve, ITMO University (#360) has done particularly well, making very strong gains for a second consecutive year, as it jumped more than 70 places to advance from the 401-500 to the 301-400 band.

Nearly as spectacularly, RUDN University has climbed up 66 positions to claim the 326th spot. The other Open Doors organizers to rank in the top 400 are National Research Nuclear University - Moscow Engineering Physics Institute at #314, Ural Federal University (UrFU) at #331 and Kazan Federal University (KFU) at #370.

Four Open Doors organizers show up in the top 500 of the league table. They are Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and Peter the Great St.Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) which are tied for 401st place, NUST "MISIS" in 428th position and Far Eastern Federal University- FEFU (FEFU) in 493rd. A newcomer to the 401-500 band, FEFU has increased Russia's top-500 cohort to 17.
