Graduates of Russian universities will be able to get an electronic copy of their diplomas

Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov signed a decree according to which a graduate will be able to receive a certified electronic version of their diploma on a declarative basis, according to the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

"The Russian Ministry of Education and Science has approved the procedure for completing a diploma of higher education and qualifications, as well as its annexes. The order was signed by Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov. Under the new rules to come into force since September 1, 2022, the graduates of educational institutions of higher education will be able to receive a copy of the diploma in electronic form on demand", - the message says.

Under the innovations, graduates will be able to apply and get a certified copy of the diploma at a specified e-mail address. To indicate the form of training in the diploma, passing the accelerated training on an individual plan and mastering part of the program at another university administration should get a graduate's written consent.

"Students can do this remotely - in electronic form or in the form of a scanned copy of the document sent to the university by mail on paper," the text says.

It is specified that the innovation will allow to specify in the diploma the information on several qualifications received.

The changes will be valid until September 1, 2028.
