QS Rankings by Faculty and Subject place Open Doors organizing universities among the world's best

On March 4, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a UK-based global higher education company released the latest edition of the World University Rankings by Faculty and Subject. A total of 22 Russian universities, including 13 Open Doors Olympiad organizers, feature in the faculty ranking. Russia is represented in each of the five broad subject area (faculty) rankings: Art and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management.

Three Open Doors Olympiad organizers have made it into the top 100 of these league tables, with National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE) coming in 59th for Social Sciences and Management, and Novosibirsk State University (NSU) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) placing 64th and 67th, respectively, for Natural Sciences. For MIPT, this is the first top-100 finish in QS rankings by faculty.

Four Open Doors organizing universities sit in the 101-200 band of the rankings: HSE, for Art and Humanities; Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and NSU, for Engineering and Technology; and National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, for Natural Sciences.

Ural Federal University (UrFU) has advanced 100 positions to finish in the top 300 of the Art and Humanities league (and also gained more than 100 positions in the Social Sciences and Management ranking). The other Open Doors organizing universities to rank in the top 300 are TSU, for Art and Humanities and for Natural Sciences; ITMO University, for Engineering Sciences and Technology and for Natural Sciences; MIPT, National University of Science and Technology MISIS (NUST MISIS), Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) and MEPhI, for Engineering Sciences and Technology.
