Ufa University of Science and Technology and Irkutsk National Technical University have joined the project’s organisers.

The selection of participants for the international volunteer project “Ambassadors of Russian Nuclear Education” has begun. The initiative brings together talented foreign students from various parts of the world: Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the CIS countries, who are studying nuclear and related specialties at Russian universities.

The registration period for young people from abroad to take part in the online intellectual competitions of the Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project has reached the halfway point. Winners and runners-up of the Olympiad will be entitled to free education under the quota for foreign nationals in the Russian Federation, and will also be eligible to apply for grant support from the Government of the Russian Federation.

This number of participants was reached in less than a month after registration opened. Registration will close on November 1.

The webinars will help Olympiad participants assess how well a particular university or academic program aligns with their goals, interests, and academic background.

Registration for the Open Doors international intellectual competition for international students and young researchers begins on August 20, 2026. Winners and runners-up will have the opportunity to study tuition-free at leading Russian universities within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation and may also receive additional government grant support.

The center will be located on the UiTM campus in Shah Alam (Selangor state). The Malaysian side will provide the facilities and appoint the center’s director, while FEFU will appoint a co-director to coordinate the joint work on the Russian side. The Institute of Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence will serve as the lead scientific partner on the Malaysian side.

Russian education has traditionally been valued around the world for its emphasis on foundational knowledge and for helping graduates develop a broad perspective, which enables young professionals to build successful careers upon returning to their home countries.

A year ago, twenty-five students passed a rigorous selection process to participate in a one-year internship at Central South University in Changsha, China, as part of a joint project between SFU and the company “Polyus.”
