"Rosatom" supports training of specialists for the African mining industry at RUDN

As part of the program, conducted in English, qualified specialists were trained for the mining sector, including six graduates from the United Republic of Tanzania (the celebration was also attended by a Republic of Namibia national who graduated from NITU "MISIS").

In addition to official educational documents, each graduate received commemorative diplomas from Uranium One Group (an international group of companies that is part of the "Sales and Trading" division in the "Rosatom" state corporation, developing uranium extraction projects in Tanzania and Namibia). The program graduates completed a two-week internship at Dalur JSC (a company of the Mining Division at "Rosatom" state corporation) in the Dalmatovsky municipal district of the Kurgan region, where they were able to familiarize themselves with the technology for uranium extraction through in-situ leaching (ISL). This method is particularly effective for mining operations on the African continent, given the permeable rock types characteristic of the region (such as sandstones).

"These diplomas confirm your knowledge, perseverance, and ability to solve complex engineering tasks. A world of exciting professions now opens up before you, where courage, foresight, and a sense of responsibility are greatly needed. I am confident that your experience and acquired competencies will make a significant contribution to the development of the mining sector in your countries," noted Kirill Egorov-Kirillov, the director of mining projects at Uranium One Group, in his address to the graduates.
