Moscow Polytech Graduate Siar Mushtak Succeeds at Archipelago 2025

Siar Mushtak (Said Hamed Siar Mushtak) came to Russia from Afghanistan, completed his bachelor's degree at Moscow Polytech, currently works at the university's Flying Robotics Laboratory, and plans to pursue a master's degree at his alma mater.

Siar participated in several events of the project-based educational intensive "Archipelago 2025," held in Skolkovo from August 7-17.

Competition: "Forest Fire Monitoring and Prevention"

Participants faced the challenge of training a neural network to detect wildfires within three days, then programming a drone for autonomous flight and integrating it with the neural network. As a programmer for the "Fixies" team, Siar Mushtak won third place. The team's prize was an activation key for Russian NN Track software designed for neural network training.

Hackathon: "Local Navigation Based on UWB and PX4"

Teams were challenged to enable drone autonomous navigation along a predetermined route without GPS, using instead a UWB module-based navigation system. Siar Mushtak served as both team leader and programmer for the "NEBO" (Sky) team - winning the silver medal. Their prizes included a SKYRIS TECHNIC CODE drone, a 50,000-ruble certificate for Skyris products, and 10,000 rubles in cash.

“The Archipelago 2025 event was truly impressive. The intensive program was extremely valuable for my professional growth. I particularly enjoyed participating in the master class series on unmanned systems and related technologies, which provided an excellent opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills in this field,” says Siar.
