Plekhanov University has once again confirmed its status as one of Russia's leading universities in the field of technological entrepreneurship. Following the seventh wave of the Innovation Assistance Fund's "Student Startup" competition, 19 student projects from Plekhanov University were declared winners, each receiving a 1‑million‑ruble grant to develop their own technological solutions.

This result is not a chance success, but the outcome of the university's systematic work to build a modern ecosystem for technological entrepreneurship. Plekhanov University's Business Incubator, the TechnoHub Centre, mentors, industry partners, and faculty members accompany students at every stage – from the birth of an idea and the creation of the first prototype, to preparing an application, securing funding, and launching their own business.

It is particularly significant that the student projects cover the most in‑demand areas of the country's technological development: digital technologies, artificial intelligence, new devices, medical technologies, creative industries, and health‑preservation solutions. These are precisely the fields that today define the priorities of Russia's national technological leadership.

"We consider it important not only to provide students with a quality education, but also to create conditions under which an idea can evolve into a sought‑after technology product and a successful business. The victory of 19 of our students is the result of the university's systematic work and a confirmation that Plekhanov University is becoming one of the country's leading platforms for training technology entrepreneurs," said Ivan Lobanov, Rector of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.

The development of technological entrepreneurship has become one of the university's strategic priorities. In recent years, Plekhanov University has consistently strengthened its position among the competition's leaders. Since 2022, 69 university projects have become winners of the "Student Startup" programme, and in 2026, another 19 new teams have been added. This demonstrates that the university has developed a sustainable model for training technology entrepreneurs, which yields tangible results year after year.

This year, a special nomination "For Achievements in Entrepreneurial Activity" has been established within the framework of the public award "Plekhanov Pride", underscoring the importance of student innovative projects and fostering an entrepreneurial culture at the university.
