More than 100,000 people have registered as participants in the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project
This number of participants was reached in less than a month after registration opened. Registration will close on November 1.
UrFU Representatives Became Holders of the Zhirinovsky Scholarship
One bachelor's student and two PhD students from Ural Federal University have won Vladimir Zhirinovsky scholarships. This year they were among the 16 winners of the prestigious All-Russian competition.
The winner among the students was Sergey Zernin from the UrFU Graduate School of Economics and Management. He will receive a scholarship of 15,000 rubles for 12 months. Among the winners are PhD students from UrFU Kallistus Odeh and Chigozirim Onvusiribe (he confirmed his scholarship status for the second time in a row). Young scientists will receive 20,000 rubles a month during the year.
For example, Callistus Odeh, a PhD student from Nigeria, is studying government support for small and medium-sized enterprises in light industry, as well as public-private partnerships as a tool to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises and ensure economic growth.
"This scholarship means a lot to me. Having come from Nigeria with limited resources, I know that talent and perseverance alone are often not enough. Access to opportunities plays a crucial role, and this scholarship provides just such an opportunity. It became a pillar of support for me. Thanks to her, I can fully focus on research, receive quality education and academic support, and engage in work that can benefit both science and practice. In addition to financial support, it is also a serious recognition of my work and a strong incentive to move on. I would like to express my special gratitude to my supervisor, Professor Galina Astratova, for her mentoring and constant support," said Kallistus Odeh.

Winners and runners-up will have the opportunity to study tuition-free at leading Russian universities within the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation and may also receive additional government grant support.

FEFU and Malaysia's largest university have agreed to establish a joint artificial intelligence laboratory
The center will be located on the UiTM campus in Shah Alam (Selangor state). The Malaysian side will provide the facilities and appoint the center’s director, while FEFU will appoint a co-director to coordinate the joint work on the Russian side. The Institute of Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence will serve as the lead scientific partner on the Malaysian side.
