The 2026 Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project commenced on 20 August 2026 with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, marking the start of its 10th anniversary cycle.

Every year, the Open Doors’s organisers note a growing interest among young people from abroad in pursuing a Russian education: halfway through the registration phase, more than 150,300 participants from 201 countries had expressed interest in the Open Doors, which is 25 per cent higher than the corresponding figure for 2025.

Among participants in the bachelor’s track, the most popular subject areas are ‘Computer and Data Science’, ‘Clinical Medicine and Public Health’ and ‘Engineering and Technology’; in the master’s track, the most popular specialisations are ‘Business and Management’, ‘Computer and Data Science’ and ‘Engineering and Technology’; while for the doctoral track, the most popular specialisations were ‘Business and Management’, ‘Clinical Medicine and Public Health’ and ‘Computer and Data Science’.

The deadline for applications for the Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project 2026/27 is 1 November.
