111 years ago, the Imperial University of Warsaw relocated to Rostov-on-Don. The city, which had long dreamed of having its own university, welcomed the professors and students with joy - as bearers of knowledge that would change the world. From that day forward, a journey began that led to the establishment of Southern Federal University - one of the first federal higher education institutions in the country.

Today, SFedU is a university for a complex world. We are able to do what few others can: combine classical fundamental rigor with engineering strength, scientific research and practical application, humanities-based thinking, and technological innovation. Where others may see a problem, we see a research opportunity - and we pursue it until we find a solution.

We are proud of our university's achievements - scientific discoveries, engineering innovations, and cutting-edge educational programs. However, our greatest asset is our people.

Thank you to our students - for their curiosity, courage, and dedication. To the teachers, for their dedication and passion for teaching. To the scientists, for their persistence and courage. To the graduates, for their loyalty and willingness to contribute. To our partners, for their trust and support.

111 years is not just a number. It's a testament to the importance of the university - for the country, the region, and the people.

Happy birthday, SFedU! We hope there will be many more reasons for us to be proud of you in the future. We wish everyone who comes here to find their place and purpose.

Congratulations!
