About the University

Laboratories and research centers

At Ufa University of Science and Technology (UUST), the research infrastructure goes far beyond traditional classrooms: it is an extensive network of laboratories and research centers where fundamental science meets the real economy. The university's flagship is the Advanced Engineering School "Engines of the Future," which operates on a full-cycle model—from exploratory research to small-scale production; here, starter-generators for PD-35 and PD-8 aircraft engines, electric drives for electric buses and unmanned aerial vehicles are developed, while the international EVoltX Lab focuses on charging stations for electric vehicles and UAVs. At the Interuniversity Student Campus of the Eurasian Research and Education Center, the Unified Innovation Complex (UIC) has been established—a "one-stop shop" for access to instrument facilities and commercialization of developments, including the Laboratory of Multifunctional Materials for Aviation and Energy, the Laboratory of Genomic and Post-Genomic Technologies, the "Nanotech" Shared Use Center, laboratories of casting and additive technologies, electrophysical and electrochemical processing methods, and a testing laboratory for polymer composites. The university also actively participates in federal programs: in 2026, UUST won a grant of 72 million rubles to create a laboratory for wear-resistant nanocomposite coatings for hard-alloy tools in aircraft engine manufacturing, and together with industrial partners, laboratories have been opened for innovative radioelectronics and optoinformatics, robotic welding for aerospace technology, electrochemistry and "green" technologies, as well as polymer recycling. For international applicants, this means a unique opportunity to engage in real projects from the very first year at the intersection of genomics, photonics, aviation electric propulsion, and materials science—in close collaboration with giants such as ODK, KAMAZ, UZGA, and Gazprom—and to become part of a team addressing import substitution and technological sovereignty challenges using world-class equipment.
