Russia will make changes in the organization of network education in universities

As a result of a visit to the Kant University in Kaliningrad, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin decided to change the regulations for the use of network education. Kant University in Kaliningrad, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin decided to change the regulations for the use of network programs in universities. In other words, now the graduate diploma will become much weightier, it will contain more information about the student's educational program.

During her visit to the Baltic Federal University (named after Kant) Anna Bugaeva, a student of this institution, asked the head of the Cabinet why she, who actually studied at three universities, would receive a diploma indicating only one university. And the practice in the leading scientific laboratories will not count for her in the final certification, either. And since network education is gaining strength in the system of higher and secondary education, Mikhail Mishustin instructed the Ministry of Education and Science "to establish a regulatory order in the field of higher education in terms of the use of network programs" by April 2022. It is not only about further implementation of network programs - such a plan has already been approved by the order of the president. But from now on it is also about the possibility for students to receive a diploma with the indication of all the universities that took part in the network program.

Network programs are a recently adopted model of education. The essence of it is that universities enter into an agreement with each other to exchange knowledge and students, and usually two to five universities are united into a "network". In this case, students can "complete" subjects and competencies at other universities, as well as use the laboratory and project facilities of not only their home universities, but also their partner companies. This is a good opportunity to expand the quality and range of your knowledge, especially during the pandemic, when most universities operate remotely. Networking programs are really a new word in education, and Russia is keeping up with the rest of the world.
