The ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) World Championship concluded in Dhaka.

The 45th ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) World Championship Final was held on November 11, 2022 in Dhaka, the capital of the Republic of Bangladesh. Teams of 140 universities from 45 countries took part in the final. Russia was represented by students of 11 universities, 6 of which are organizers of the Olympiad: Higher School of Economics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Ural Federal University, Higher School of Economics (St. Petersburg branch), ITMO University, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University and Nizhny Novgorod State University.

Russian student teams from SPbSU and HSE took bronze medals. The first place went to the team from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The participants from ITMO were not left without awards. They became regional champions of IC.PC Northern Eurasia.
It is noteworthy that in 2021 the Lobachevsky NNSU team won the ICPC finals, becoming last year's absolute champion. Seoul State University came in second place, ITMO in third, and MIPT in fourth. In 2020, the NNSU team was also the absolute champion.

Taking part in the event were representatives of Lobachevsky University and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The participants shared with each other their countries' cultural traditions, such as dances, poems, symbols and crafts.

  • HSE Expands Cooperation with Chinese Universities

    An HSE delegation, led by Rector Nikita Anisimov, visited China for negotiations with the administration of the country’s top universities. The parties agreed to expand bilateral scientific and educational collaboration and signed several documents. In particular, a strategic partnership agreement was established with Peking University, one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in China.

  • KFU promoted at expo in Vietnam

    The University is represented by Deputy Director for Innovation of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and IT Kamilla Smolnikova.

  • SPbPU is represented in 10 subject areas in the QS Subject ranking

    Polytechnic University maintained its positions in key areas of knowledge and took 7th place in the Russian part of the ranking in engineering and 14th in natural sciences, retaining these high positions from 2024. In the world ranking SPbPU ranked 288th in engineering and 429th in natural sciences.
