FEFU will open three new Russian Language Centers in China

"The university will prepare students not only for Russian-language programs, but will also give them the opportunity to enroll in new English-language programs at the university," the university's press service said in a statement.

FEFU Rector Boris Korobets noted that China's demand for education in Russia has returned to, and even exceeded, pre-coronovirus levels.

"We have intensified interactions in priority areas and expanded our audience. FEFU is opening its doors to Chinese students who would like to study in both Russian and English. The new programs have already attracted significant interest from potential applicants; we have received twice as many applications for medical fields as last year, and we forecast a threefold increase by the end of the year," the rector said.

There are now 48 agreements between the Far Eastern Federal University and Chinese universities, including on the implementation of academic exchange programs. About 1,500 students from China are currently studying at the Far Eastern Federal University. They major in international relations, construction, economics, management, philology and Russian as a foreign language. In addition, 12 FEFU Russian Language and Culture Centers already operate in the PRC.
