Open to the World: UrFU Summarized Its Work on the External Track
Members of the supervisory board commended the significant expansion of the company's international presence
The first graduates of the joint training program of the International Engineering Institute of Tomsk Polytechnic University and Shenyang Polytechnic University (SHPU) have completed their education. 228 graduates have completed studies in their educational programs.
The first enrollment at the International Engineering Institute of TPU and SHPU took place in 2022. It was intended to promote exchanges in the fields of education, culture, science and professional technologies between China and Russia, and to strengthen ties in the field of higher education between the two countries.
“This is a really big and important joint project of our universities to train new generation engineers. Tomsk Polytechnic University and Shenyang Polytechnic University have a long and fruitful history of cooperation, common aspirations and ideals. Therefore, it is particularly pleasant and important for us that our joint project has received such a powerful development. The first enrollment took place in 2022. And now we congratulate you, dear graduates. You are pioneers whose efforts and courage have proved the effectiveness of the new training format. Unique career prospects are opening up before you today. You have gained dual competencies, advanced international experience, and learned to think globally, overcoming any challenges,” — Leonid Sukhikh, Acting Rector of TPU, congratulated the graduates.
The main goal of the project is to create a joint structure to implement higher education programs in the fields of mechanical engineering, instrumentation, materials science and information technology using educational resources of TPU in combination with academic advantages of the Chinese partner University. Joined forces allow us to train highly qualified professionals with advanced knowledge of their specialty and who have mastered the Russian language. Engineering schools of Tomsk Polytechnic University are actively involved in the implementation of the project.
