The new campus of Baltic Federal University will become a powerful point of attraction and driver of development of the whole Kaliningrad region, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko.
As early as next year, the construction of a new world-class student campus "Cantiana" will start in Kaliningrad on Alexander Nevsky Street. In addition to the buildings of Biomed, Institute of High Technologies and the Higher School of Philosophy and Social Sciences, comfortable dormitories for 2.5 thousand people and co-working spaces, the campus will include a park, a street with cafes and stores, a public reception area, a multifunctional center and a tour desk. The construction is to be completed in 2027.

Milica Rakina, a young scientist from the Chemistry Department at Tomsk State University, is working with colleagues from Radan Intan University (Lampung, Indonesia) to test animal products for compliance with halal standards. The scientists have successfully developed DNA analysis protocols that allow them to detect traces of pork, alcohol, and other non-halal components with high accuracy.
