Moscow Polytechnic University has celebrated the graduation of 310 students from its preparatory department for international applicants. During the year, students from more than 50 countries studied Russian and basic subjects related to their future fields, preparing to continue their education in Russian universities at bachelor’s, master’s and PhD levels.
Representatives of the embassies of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Guinea and Türkiye, as well as the university’s international partners, joined the graduation ceremony. The guests congratulated the students, thanked the teachers and wished the graduates confidence and success on their next step.
Yulia Davydova, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, noted that the first year of study is usually the most challenging. She congratulated the students on learning Russian, taking an active part in university life and achieving their first successes in Russia.
The celebration was both formal and creative. Graduates recited poems by Russian poets, performed songs in Russian and their native languages, and presented their own musical works. The programme also included quizzes about Russia and a slideshow, “Our Year at Moscow Polytech,” featuring memorable moments from classes, excursions, competitions and university celebrations.
Students received certificates, while teachers from the preparatory department were presented with letters of appreciation. Many graduates plan to continue their studies at Moscow Polytechnic University. For example, Aygozel Annanurbаnova and Shahribossan Dosiyeva from Turkmenistan chose Economics and Management, while Keita Zouman from Mali plans to study Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
For the graduates, this celebration marked an important starting point. New knowledge, friendships and opportunities in Russia are ahead!
Russian education has traditionally been valued around the world for its emphasis on foundational knowledge and for helping graduates develop a broad perspective, which enables young professionals to build successful careers upon returning to their home countries.
A year ago, twenty-five students passed a rigorous selection process to participate in a one-year internship at Central South University in Changsha, China, as part of a joint project between SFU and the company “Polyus.”
The 20th International Summer Space School, “Promising Space Technologies and Experiments in Space,” concluded with the presentation of project proposals. The participants included 18 international students and scientists from Brazil, India, Mexico, Peru, Tunisia, Iran, and Lebanon. Upon completion of the program, they received certificates and credentials confirming their professional development.
Egor Musin, an associate professor at Moscow Polytechnic University, has won the Chinese Ambassador to Russia Award in the “Biomedicine” category. The awards ceremony was held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Russian Federation.
The visit by international partners took place as part of the celebrations marking LETI’s 140th anniversary. The meeting participants discussed opportunities to expand cooperation, increase the number of joint programs, and boost the number of international students.
