Open to the World: UrFU Summarized Its Work on the External Track
Members of the supervisory board commended the significant expansion of the company's international presence
UrFU journal R-Economy is included in one of the largest electronic libraries of scientific publications in China, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). This is the first scientific journal of the university to be included in the CNKI. A memorandum of cooperation in the field of metadata has been signed between the journal and the platform. The archive of the journal from 2017 will soon appear on the online resource and will be available for free download.
"We believe that the inclusion of the journal in the scientific electronic library of China is due to at least three factors. Firstly, we publish scientific articles on unique topics with a focus on the problems of regional and urban development in the countries of the Global South. Secondly, the authors and founders of the journal, UrFU and the Institute of Economics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, have a high academic reputation. And, thirdly, the journal complies with international publishing standards," explains Irina Turgel, Editor-in-chief of R-Economy, Director of the UrFU School of Economics and Management.
CNKI was established in 1996 by the Tongfang Knowledge Network Technology Publishing House, founded by Tsinghua University. The scientific materials on the platform cover all major disciplines, including engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities.
R-Economy is a peer-reviewed online journal publishing original research articles and reviews in the field of regional economics and urban studies.
