On 26–27 May, the capital of India hosted “MGIMO Days” – a series of presentation and outreach events aimed at introducing Indian school and university students to the University’s academic programs, traditions and student life, bringing together more than 200 future leaders.
On 26 May, the grand opening of MGIMO Days took place at the Russian House in New Delhi. The event gathered over 150 participants – young people interested in diplomacy, international politics and global cooperation. The honorary guests of the opening were Roman Babushkin, Minister‑Counsellor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India and an MGIMO graduate, and Elena Remizova, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in New Delhi.
In his welcoming speech, Roman Babushkin emphasised the uniqueness of the alma mater: “MGIMO is not just a university, it is a door that opens the whole world to you.” The diplomat recalled the famous graduates of the university – ministers, ambassadors, heads of state and major corporations – and also highlighted the unprecedented level of specialist training that has remained the University’s hallmark for decades. “Today MGIMO trains professionals capable of solving the most complex challenges at the intersection of politics, economics and law,” added R.N. Babushkin.
Elena Remizova stressed the importance of strengthening educational and cultural ties between Russia and India. She noted that the Russian House is always glad to host events that open the doors to quality Russian education for Indian youth.
Elizaveta Rudenko, Head of the MGIMO International Marketing Group, told participants about the academic programs and extracurricular opportunities for international students. Viktoria Sosnitskaya, Public Relations Specialist of the International Marketing Group, conducted an interactive quiz, “The Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership between Russia and India”. The most active participants received memorable souvenirs from the “MGIMO International” collection.
Schoolchildren showed particular interest in an open lecture by Ekaterina Bostoganashvili, Deputy Dean of the School of International Business and Senior Lecturer at the I.N. Gerchikova Department of Management, Marketing and Foreign Economic Activity. She immersed the audience in the topic of cross‑cultural communication in business negotiations and also presented the opportunities offered by the Faculty of International Business for future leaders.
On 27 May, as part of MGIMO Days in New Delhi, the Head of the International Marketing Group conducted presentation and interactive sessions at the School attached to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India. Later, a meeting between MGIMO representatives and postgraduates of the Department of Political Science took place at the University of Delhi.
On the sidelines of MGIMO Days, meetings were held with responsible officials of the Russian Embassy in India and with Indian partners.
We extend our gratitude to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in New Delhi for their assistance in organising and holding MGIMO Days.
